The skiing is still fine on Mount Washington!
Still loads of snow as of April 11, 2010!
Nordic operations on Mount Washington have officially closed for the season. However, the good folks at the Raven Lodge left us power for the wax benches at the back. If you are out there training for the Snow to Surf or just enjoying the beautiful conditions, remember to ski with caution and bring a buddy.
28th Annual Vancouver Island Loppet
Despite stormy weather, 129 skiers left the stadium in the Loppet mass start. The skiers came from all over Vancouver Island, across British Columbia, and Alberta. The fastest time overall for the full 30 km Loppet was skied by Olav Stana of Vernon. The fastest time overall for the half Loppet, 15 km, was skied by Sheridan Meckert of Comox. Conrad Murdoch of Whister had the fastest time for the children’s 5 km Loppet, followed closely by his brother Michael Murdoch. See the table below to find medal results by category. The Loppet is always a really fun event for all ages!
