Have fun with your lessons and figuring out your participants. Lesson planning can feel overwhelming at first but gets easier with practice and experience. Check out this 25 second inspiring video. Europe takes their learn-to-ski programs very seriously!

Shortcut to Nordiq Canada Resources
Nordiq Canada’s Coaching Resources for athlete development provides development tools coaches need to create lifelong skiers.
Check out Nordiq Canada’s technique video library with technique lessons and drills. The techniques outlined are specific for the various LTAD stage. It will give you a good idea what each technique looks like for a young JackRabbit all the way through to a competitive racer.
Games
Games are a great way to add variety and fun into your lesson. It often takes a few times before everyone gets the hang of it. Ask your JackRabbits what games they like to play at recess and see if you can adapt a ski version.
The Nordic Ski Lab has a great selection of 33 free videos demonstrating various games you can use.
Note: Nordic Ski Lab is an online nordic ski school. Mostly a members-only platform, Nordic Ski Lab partners with Nordiq Canada to offer videos, courses and drills to help you and your athletes ski faster. Non-members can access some Open Access videos, like tutorials of kids’ games and technique fundamentals.
